Create Conference 2015 - A New Experience #createcon15
I can not begin to express how amazing Create was.
I traveled to Cleveland, TN late Thursday evening so that I could get some work done on Mom's kitchen. There really wasn't anything to do so I talked to my baby brother for a while, relaxed and worked on my final notes and presentation for Saturday. I went over to the conference site to check things out. Holy cow. There were a lot of stairs up to the main site. LOL I am definitely older...
That aside, the room looked crazy cool. Light bulbs, lanterns, a cool sign, media... It was totally off the rails. I hung out for the opening then went to a concert with some dear friends (the music track started on Saturday). Saturday morning, I was up super early warming up my voice and finalizing the order of songs for Praise and Worship. With the help of the ever awesome Lindsey Schreiber, worship was beautiful. God was present and true to His nature, we stood in awe.
I am so thankful for that experience! I'd written a contemporary arrangement of the song "The Love of God" and it was beautiful, inspired by our Lord. I also created an arrangement mashing "How Great Is Our God" (Tomlin) with "Great Are You, Lord" (Phillips. Craig and Dean) where 2 choruses of "How Great" were sung as the chorus of "Great Are You" was laid over the top (in the key of D). It was magnificent! The Lord dropped that thought into my head on Thursday as I was running around Nashville getting Noelle to her Dad's and I was getting ready to leave. Be ready to move when the Lord drops something in your spirit. Pay attention to what He is doing. He doesn't have to use us but He chooses to. We have to pay attention so that He doesn't end up using someone else!
Anyway, the conference was amazing. The oganizers, DeWayne Hamby and team, did an INCREDIBLE and EXCELLENT job. Writers, Artists, Musicians, Singers, Techs... You name it. Creative folks were there in force! The presenters were amazing from all accounts and people are looking forward to the next Create. I myself can not wait!
I thank God for blessing me to keep doing what I love to do. It is an honor and privilege to serve Him and His people. Be blessed!
