Embrace the Light of Christmas

In a day and time when so many people say "Happy Holidays" or "Season's Greetings" or "Xmas", I am reminded of WHY the season that culminates in gift giving and mirth and joy is called Christmas.

Yes, it's become a very commercial day in a lot of respects. From fights for "things" to suicides, this time of the year has become somewhat scary. As men and women lose focus on Christmas and turn focus to self, that is what we will continue to see and experience. Man can be one of two things - good or evil. There really is no in between. What we feed is what will grow. Feed the darkness and it will grow. Feed the light and it will overwhelm the darkness.

We must choose to embrace the Light. Light brings warmth, strength and growth. Light dispels shadow and darkness and sadness. Light brings joy. How do we embrace the power of this Light Source? It's quite simple. Embrace the Light Giver. Embrace the One True King who is the Light and Life of men. Embrace Christ and as He shines through you, become the Light.
Matthew 5:14-16(KJV)"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Embrace Christmas all year round, not just during the month of December. Embrace Christ-like-ness throughout the year and watch your life blossom, fed by the joy that comes from a life-changing encounter with Christ.  For He IS the Light of the World! He loves us AS IS. There is no condition. We don't have to be pretty or smart or wealthy to come to Him. We only have to be willing.

John 3:16-17 (KJV)
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
