Real, in your face, LIFE
Let's face it. Feeling sick is not fun. It's annoying and irritating and nobody has time for it! Right? Wrong. Being sick stops us from doing what we are so busy doing and gives us a chance to communicate with God more so sometimes than we would if we weren't sick. How many times have you been sick and said "Oh Lord, I don't have time for this!" Well, at least you called His name! As my friend, Sharon Farruggia says, when we call His name, no matter the reason, He shows up and thank God for that!
I called His name yesterday and told Him that I am very busy and need to get well quickly. He said that I'll get better when it's time for me to get better. I must be patient. So far, I have spent time working on crafts that I can do while sitting down. That's something I rarely MAKE time for but that I thoroughly enjoy. When did I stop doing them? I've spent a lot of time just talking to that precious young lady who is my daughter Noelle and I have marveled at what God has done in her and through her. I have enjoyed getting to know her again. What in the world was I thinking? I have read and thought and just enjoyed the fact that I'm alive whether I am sick or not. Some who have loved and lost are on my heart at this, what can be quite difficult, time of year.
No, I'm not canceling any of my engagements for this season. I'm booked solid until Christmas, but I'm taking a little extra time to commune with God, smell the roses, love my neighbors as myself and enjoy that young lady who is my joy and heart. I won't be on Facebook as much or on Twitter as much, but that's okay too. Social media isn't the be all, end all. What should be more important than Facebook and Twitter? Real, in your face, LIFE.
I'm keeping mine.
“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
Thank you, Mr. Emerson for reminding us of what life is really all about. To clarify his meaning, it is to be like Jesus.
