"In My Heart"

My Mother is here visiting with me and we sat down this morning, along with my daughter Noelle, for  breakfast around the kitchen table.  We had such a wonderful time just thinking about and talking about old times.  Somehow, we ended up talking about the hymns that have blessed us over the years.  We talked about the incomparable "In My Heart There Rings a Melody" which happens to be one that we are singing at church tomorrow.  I felt a need to copy the lyrics here.

This is one of those songs that you simply can not avoid tapping your toes to.  Singing this song brings JOY!  Good, old fashioned, not based on circumstance, JOY!  In looking at our world today, I see it missing this one element.  JOY!  Where did it go?  How did we lose it?  Can we get it back?  Joy is free to all who believe.  Joy is a KNOWLEDGE that we are saved by grace.  Joy isn't based on a good hair cut or a lower mortgage payment or successful children.  Joy is based in Christ and His sacrifice that we might live!

C'mon folks.  Let's renew our JOY!   God is still GOOD and God is still GOD!
