First Fruit
It's 5:20 in the morning. What a fantastic time of day! There's a certain stillness and quiet that allows the mind and body to relax in the comfort and safety of His arms. Thank you, Lord, for early rising. Before I allow my mind to fill with all the things that I must do today or things that I need to check on today, I rest in the love of a God is ever present and ever available. Ahhhhh...
What a beautiful way to start the day.
I encourage each of you today to start out with a little "Jesus" time. Not facebook time. Not family time. Just you and the Lord. A little soft music to aid in focus, a Bible or devotional to read from and a sprinkling of prayer will jump start your day with joy and gladness!
Ever notice how beginning the day this way seems to filter through the day and by the time you lay your head down at night, you recognize your day as fulfilling and successful? Why is that? Well, God wants our first fruit in EVERYTHING. Each day has its own fruit. Give Him His time first and your day will be exceptional in every way. Eventually, exceptional days will become the norm.
As you proceed through your day today, remember that He is FIRST. Period. Everything after that falls into place in His timing and based on our response to our situations. Choose joy! Remember: to overcome the darkness, you need LIGHT. To overcome bad, you need GOOD. Keep satan (with a small "s") where he belongs. Stay in the light and he has no choice but to remain in the shadow. When the Son shines overhead and you are fully engulfed in Him, your shadow is right where it should be... under your feet.
We are BLESSED! Let's live like it!
